What we do:
We pool our knowledge about physical activity, share news about local events and work as a partnership to run projects that encourage more people to get more active.
How we do it:
The taskforce has an email forum to share news and information. There are sub groups that meet occasionally for particular pieces of work. We have put all our plans, and the evidence behind them, into the Brighton & Hove Active Living Strategy. We are currently consulting on the strategy and once it’s all agreed, we will launch it later this year. For a copy of the strategy or to join the taskforce and stay up to date with active living in Brighton & Hove, please contact David Brindley, Active Living Advicer at Brighton & Hove City Teaching PCT Health Promotion team on 01273 545404
Active Living is a way of life that incorporates physical activity into daily routines.
There is a direct link between physical activity and health. Doing enough (30 minutes of moderate activity, five times a week) leads to longer, happier and healthier lives.
Whether you’re an individual looking for more information, an activity organiser looking for evidence to support a funding application, or a professional working in a health, community development, sport or leisure setting, the following links will take you to the latest research, statistics, strategies and guidelines.
