Brighton & Hove Sports Forum

What is the Sports Forum?

The Sports Forum meets twice a year, representing individuals, organisations, and clubs that share an interest in sport and keeping active.

Its main aims are to:

  • provide a united platform for the city’s wide and diverse voice of sport
  • promote the city's sporting needs and interests in Brighton & Hove and regionally, in adherence with the city sports strategy
  • provide support for partnerships working across all providers of sport and active participation
  • ensure examples of good practice are shared with other sport providers
  • to identify where appropriate project groups should be set up to focus on Sport England, and other government initiatives, that would benefit sport in Brighton & Hove.

The Sports Forum extends across the voluntary sector and public and private sport providers. It also includes organisations promoting active recreation such as the local Primary Care Trust and representatives from education, skills training and community safety sectors.
